Many of our winter events are already being promoted, with Goose Fair a prime opportunity to market what will be going on in the town. However, we are still looking at what needs to be done to support traders and local businesses further in the run up to Christmas. As per the recent newsletter, we would be grateful to know of your intention to open on the Sundays before Christmas. Janna has held discussions with the market reeve to discuss any possible collaboration on those dates.
The inaugural meeting of South West BIDs took place on Thursday in Plymouth. It proved a fantastic networking opportunity for Janna who believes that we can learn a great deal from our neighbouring BIDs. In discussion were opportunities for collective action, such as lobbying as a region for additional funding from the private sector which could be shared among the 17 BIDs, methods to measure footfall, how we can data share to a greater benefit, how we may be able to collaborate and what opportunities there are for securing additional funding. These meetings will take place three times a year.
Other projects in the pipeline this week are the motorhome leaflet for local campsites, a revised coach welcome pack, updated town signage and a new levy welcome pack.
